2009 CR 914 Region 1 Championships

June here in Marblehead had been cool and rainy. The forecast for regatta day was grim. But nine skippers arrived to race despite the less than perfect weather. It was cloudy and there was some light drizzle with temperatures in the mid 60s. The wind was generally NE with the usual Redd’s Pond cantankerous variability. After 17 races Biff Martin was the clear winner with 11 first place finishes. Brian Jobson from Dry Pants MYC placed a solid second, his best result in all the years he has been attending this annual event.
 
Race director Judy Skerry did her usual outstanding job running the race. Cheryl Emmons and Biff Martin assured that everyone had a good lunch and beverages.
